you ((brian loftus)) as we've seen time and again in southern nevada, it doesn't take much to wash out the road... ((michelle mortensen)) >> it really doesn't ... and we're aware of at least four swift water rescues last night. thankfully according to clark county fire ... no one was injuried in any of those cases. but these heavy downpours sure did take some folks by surprise ... especially some of our tourists on the strip. (stitch) it's really high over in some spots about a foot high." )) ((michelle mortensen)) >> with more rain potentially on the way ... clark county wants you to remember their slogan when it comes to washed out roads: "turn around, don't drown". driving into flood waters can ruin your car...and if the water is deep enough ... you can get trapped yourself. and get this ... if you do need to be rescued in flood waters ... you can actually be fined ..

the popular shopping destination tivoli village killed a construction worker... yesterday afternoon. according to las vegas fire and rescue ... three men were on the scaffolding ... when it started to collapsed. two of them amazingly jumped off to safety in time ... but third man didn't make. (( tim szymanski / lvfr: "any time you have a construction accident, if a person falls more than 12 feet at a construction site // we're very concerned because human beings are just not designed for falling those distances." )) accident. tivoli village management has stopped all construction and says it will resume only when it's deemed safe to do so. the victim has not yet been identified./// ((michelle mortensen)) and an update on the man attacked by a swarm of bees in southwest las vegas earlier this month. 49-year-old jose moreno pacheco has died. he was not wearing protective gear when he and two other unlicensed workers attempted to clear a swarm of bees from a home near russell and grand canyon.

the clark county coroner's office is working to determine the cause of death. the investigation is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete./// ((brian loftus)) jury selection is underway in the ipad murder trial. 15 year-old marcos arenas was killed in 2013 when he was robbed for his ipad and run over when he tried to retrieve it. michael solid is charged with the crime... an alleged accomplice, jacob dismont, pleaded guilty on august twelfth and is scheduled for sentencing in october. jury selection is expected to take two days... about two weeks./// ((brian loftus)) las vegas mayor pro tem steve ross has issued a new statement in the case of his son's arrest on multiple robbery and burglary charges... saying quotel "it is clear no family is immune from the terrible effects of addiction. we will continue to be hopeful that shane will overcome his demons and get the help that he clearly needs." the ross family expressed gratitude for support from the community and added that they are grateful no one was injured. 27 year-old shane ross is being

meanwhile, clinton continues to be dogged by the controversial e-mail server she used as secretary of state. a federal judge, monday, gave the state department one month to make a plan to release nearly 15-thousand documents that it received from the f-b-i as part of its investigation into that server. clinton's campaign says, "we support those documents being released publicly as well." donald trump is now calling for a deeper investigation into family's charitable foundation. ( donald trump / (r) presidential candidate ) "the amounts involved, the favors done, and the significant numbers of times it was done require an expedited investigation by a special prosecutor --immediately, immediately, immediately." the call comes as trump postpones the major immigration speech he had scheduled for thursday; his campaign says it's still fine-tuning its immigration policy and the

acres. officials say the chimney fire is now threatening more than a-thousand structures in the area. at least seven nearby communities were ordered to evacuate over the weekend. and officials say if anyone in those communities hasn't left yet, they should do that as soon as possible. firefighters say the fire remains 35-percent contained./// ((sherry swensk)) meanwhile the bluecut wildfire in southern california is nearly 90% all evacuees are now allowed to return home -- if their home is still there. more than 100 homes have been destroyed since the fire started last tuesday. sherry how's the weather today?
